I would like to tell about one Mitsuhana Ozashiki.
Today at 2:45 pm I went to Gion Higashi hanamachi. There I met Aisha-san, Mitsuhana Shikomi again. She was standing on the bridge, wearing a pretty komon. She told me that there was Ozashiki in Azuchi sim, and I decided to attend.
I went in and the Ochaya was full of happy people again. I was glad, because last time it was quite empty.
I met many new nice people. There were 2 Shikomi I had never seen.

Mitsuhana Ochaya in Azuchi. |
Ueta-san, Okaasan of Mitsuhana Okiya was helping a very new Shikomi.
I sat down and there was maikosan Tomohana! I met her in my first Ozashiki in Mitsuhana.
There were Akahana Ueta (Okaasan),
Tomohana-san, Yurika-san and Chisaki-san. And of course the two Shikomi and all the other patrons.
|
Akahana Ueta, Mitsuhana Okaasan, playing shamisen.
Yurika-san moved from another Okiya to Mitsuhana, and now she is a Mitsuhana Minarai (in real life it is the watch and learn period before becoming a Maiko). She was really nice and beautiful. |
I got some delicious green tea, or Ocha. We talked and laughed a good while.
Soon after serving the tea, Okaasan played her Shamisen, while the Maiko were getting ready to perform.
|
Minaraisan Yurika, Maikosan Tomohana, Maikosan Chisaki and Okaasan. |
They performed Gion Kouta, or ballad for Gion. Just in case you didn't know, Gion Kouta is the most popular Geisha dance, and probably the best known one too! It tells about the fours seasons in Gion and about a Maiko.
|
Minaraisan Yurika, Maikosan Tomohana, Maikosan Chisaki.
Gion Kouta is also one of my favorite dances, so I always enjoy watching it. I just secretly hope that next time they will play Kyo no Shiki! It is my another favorite, right after Harusame. |

Picture from dancers view. Chisaki-san, Tomohana-san and Yurika-san. |
I also enjoy taking all these pictures from Ozashiki. It feels like you were in real Ochaya taking photos form maiko and minarai!
|
I took one picture from up, so you could see the beautiful hair of maiko! |
|
Tomohana-san (sorry this pic is on a wrong place) |
|
Here is the new Shikomi |
And as you can see, I have watched the dances from every view. :) Look at the kanzashi (hair decorations). Aren't they beautiful?
|
Here you can see the performers and also the patrons.
After Gion Kouta, Tomohana-san danced one dance alone. The kouta was Harusame, which is absolutely my FAVORITE! They had forgotten I am a shamisen player. ;) The dance was with a beautiful pink paper umbrella called kasa.
This was another really happy Ozashiki in Mitsuhana!
